Xiaomi Mi Box 3 gets two-year-old Android 9 Pie update

Xiaomi is finally rolling out Android 9 Pie update to its Mi Box 3. One of the key features of the update is that the Mi Remote app will now work with the Mi Box. However, this update is for those who enrolled for the Beta program. Xiaomi is not allowing new users to join the Beta program. The update is about 620MP in size. The Xiaomi Mi Box 3 was launched in 2016 with Android Marshmallow. The update is rolling out to Mi Box 3 with model number MDZ-16-AB.
Xiaomi recently launched the Mi Box 4K in India at Rs 3,499. Using the device users can convert their non-smart TV into a smart TV. Mi Box 4K comes with HDR 10 which offers true to life colour. The device also is powered by Dolby Atmos and it comes with Android TV 9.0 out-of-the-box. The device also comes with a built-in Google Assistant which allows users to control the Mi Box 4k using voice commands.
The Mi Box 4K runs 2GHz quad-core ARM Cortex processor with Mali 450 GPU. The Mi Box 4K packs 2GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. There’s HDMI, USB 2.0, and Bluetooth. The Xiaomi Mi Box 4K also comes with Mi voice remote which offers support for Google Assistant.
Xiaomi is also offering Google’s Data Saver feature. With this feature users can watch more videos with the same amount of data pack. It will allow users to get regular data consumption updates and enables them to cast local content on a TV without WiFi connection.
