ROW function in Excel

In Microsoft Excel, the ROW function returns the row number of a specified cell or range. The function does not take any arguments and can be used to return the row number of the cell in which the function is entered.
The syntax of the ROW function in Microsoft Excel is as hereinafter laid down :
ROW()
For example, if the formula =ROW() is entered in cell A5, the function will return 5, which is the row number of cell A5.
It could be used in combination with other functions or formulas to create dynamic ranges, to make calculations based on the row number of a cell, to create unique identifiers based on row number, etc.
